SHAMAN'S DEATH
Bookmark and Share

The mind works to create form in a formless reality. The heart works to create formlessness in a world of form. The question is — do we let the heart lead? Or the mind?

Many of us in heart-led moments have indeed experienced serenity, timelessness, formlessness--a remembrance of our connection to everything and everyone. Our human experience merges into our Infinite experience. We are disappointed, however, when the feeling fades, and life goes back to “normal”. We find ourselves attracting challenge after challenge, and bliss seems like a lifetime (or two) ago! The mind, the storehouse of our deepest fears, takes the lead again.

This continuous movement between heart and mind, love and fear, represents a cycle of death and rebirth that is also known by some as "Shaman’s Death." It invites us to remove from our closets all that is not love, to help us peel away the layers of negative thoughts, beliefs and emotions that keep us from feeling our Divinity.

We can release fear only when we have something greater than or equal to it to hold onto. Love is that thing. With love we find the strength, courage and wisdom to face physical, mental, emotional and spiritual challenges. When we find fear taking over, that is our signal to move from our head to our heart. The mind’s intelligence interprets reality through a limited lens. The heart’s intelligence sees/feels through the lens of the Universe. It can retrain the mind to broaden its scope, so that heart and mind can become a team.

As we journey on the path of personal healing, we may experience Shaman's Death many times. The cycle of death and rebirth will continue until all that is fear is transformed, and all that remains is love.

Make the choice that heals. Let your heart lead you home!
